Idem automates file synchronization and folder replication. It secures critical data duplicating them from a computer location to another. This solution for mirroring of important folders from a Windows NT/W2K server toward another, checks a list of source folders at regular time interval and updates target folders with new or modified files.
It can be used to create a mirror for disaster recovery or to backup files. You can use Idem to synchronize a laptop on a network and for real-time mirroring of folders on ZIP drive, CD-RW, removable hard disk, network drives, local hard disk.
Fully preserves Macintosh filenames and structures stored on a Windows NT 4.0 / 2000 server running MacFile/SFM (Services For Macintosh) or a MacFile/SFM compatible server as MacServerIP.
Idem can check and copy the files and folders security informations (ACL permissions - access-control lists on NTFS partitions) and the files and folders attributes (hidden, system, archive, etc.)
Compatibility with :
- Open File Handler (Swat Consulting Inc.) in order to mirror opened files on Windows NT.
- WebDrive (RiverFront). In association with WebDrive, Idem allows to replicate files using FTP protocol (in order to update mirror Web sites for example).
Designed to works also as a Windows NT/2000 Service providing a report log with the list of files updated during synchronization tasks.
